Ethanol Ford Escape Hybrid E85

Ford introduced ethanol hybrid Escape Hybrid E85. This year, Ford also going to release 250 thousand cars on ethanol, including pickup Ford F-150, Sedan Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car.

Hybrid E85 will reduce oil imports

Supporters of ethanol claim that with its help nation will be able to significantly reduce dependence on imported oil and reduce atmospheric pollution. Although critics say that this will be a waste of 3 billion dollars a year.

Ford believes that ethanol will help reduce oil imports by 140 million barrels a year if only 5% of American cars switch to a new type of fuel. While the concept is not ready for serial production, Ford said that if ethanol gas stations were widespread, mass production would not be a problem.
